Suitable for AMEB online or on-paper Theory exams, the Theory of Music integrated course and workbooks incorporate all recent changes to the AMEB syllabuses for Grades 1, 2 and 3.

Using easy to understand language, aimed at all ages, this series covers all the material required to learn, understand and appreciate basic music theory.

There are plenty of exercises, with illustrated examples providing a useful visual aid to understanding the various elements.

Each book is divided into numerous lessons, with clear explanations and examples of the topics being discussed.

A sample AMEB Theory exam is included in each book, and solutions to the practice exercises and the sample exam can be downloaded below.

The new Theory of Music integrated course and workbook Grades 1 to 3 are available for purchase from AMEB Qld’s online store.

The books may be used on their own, or together with the online course. Students and teachers may choose which option suits them best.

How do these books compare to other Theory books?

The AMEB Theory of Music books incorporate all the changes made to the Theory of Music Syllabus over the years.

Will there be workbooks for Grades 4–6?

At this stage, only Grade 1 to Grade 3 will be published.

Are the answers published in the books?

The answers are available as a free download from the documents listed above.
